DRAMA BIRYANI AND THE MYTH OF THE “GOOD WADERA”

Oppression doesn’t become just because the oppressor is gentle.

When a drama give the narrative of a “good landlord,” it sends the message that feudalism itself can be okay.

🚫 Feudalism is never okay.

It’s built on inequality—one man holding land, wealth, and power, while farmers’ survival depends on his mercy. Even if he’s “just,” the system inherently maintains exploitation.

Calling a feudal lord “just” is like calling a slave owner “kind.”  The cruelty isn’t only in how they act — it’s in the system that lets one human own or control another’s life. People once justified slavery by saying some masters treated their slaves well. But no amount of kindness made slavery moral — because the power to own someone is itself the injustice. Feudalism works the same way: mercy doesn’t make domination fair.

Another analogy is liberal Zionism (which we are all against) - a system built on inequality.  You cannot be against liberal Zionism and be pro “liberal feudalism!”

No system built on inequality can ever be “good,” no matter how gentle its rulers are.
